Casino de Montréal for a city night
Casino de Montréal sits on Île Notre-Dame in Jean-Drapeau Park, across from Montréal’s Old Port. From Friday at 9 a.m. it stays open non-stop until 5 a.m. on Monday.

Hours through the week
From Monday to Thursday, the casino opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 5 a.m. the next day. On Friday the doors open at 9 a.m. and stay open around the clock until 5 a.m. on Monday. The week band beside this text shows that rhythm day by day: four long nights, then one unbroken weekend stretch. All times are Eastern.
The Pavillon du Québec, one of the casino’s buildings, keeps its own schedule. It runs Sunday to Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 a.m. Casino de Montréal is open on statutory holidays. Exact holiday hours should be checked on the venue’s own site.

Five floors and a poker room
Gaming at Casino de Montréal spreads across five floors. Over 2,800 slot machines share the space with 84 gaming tables. Electronic gaming terminals and sports betting terminals fill out the mix, and ARcade adds an augmented reality gaming area.
Poker has its own room, on Level A of the Pavillon de la France. That building is the former Expo 67 French pavilion, where the casino first opened its doors. It holds 18 No-Limit Texas Hold’em tables with a minimum wager of $1/$2. Seats are booked through the PokerAtlas app.
Texas Hold’em tournaments run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. Thursday is the open question. The casino’s English and French pages differ on whether it is also a tournament day. This guide does not pick a side. Anyone planning around a Thursday tournament should confirm with the casino at 514-392-2746.
Dinner, shows and the rest of the night
Restaurants on site include Le Montréal, Pavillon 67 and L’Instant. Shows run at the Cabaret du Casino. The age limit of 18 covers the whole building, with the bars, the restaurants and the Cabaret included. Cash desks exchange US dollars and euros to Canadian dollars, and they also offer bank withdrawals.
Two dated items sit on this season’s calendar. Pré-Piknic, the brunch edition of Piknic Électronik, takes over the Le Jardin patio on Sundays from 11 a.m. until October 11. Entry to Pré-Piknic is free. The last Sunday in that run is October 11, as checked on October 7, 2026. Later in the month, the casino marks Halloween on October 30 and 31.
Getting to Île Notre-Dame
Casino de Montréal is 2.2 km in a straight line from Montréal city hall. Without a car, STM bus 777 does the work. From Jean-Drapeau metro station, take it westbound to the casino. From Bonaventure metro station or Central Station, take it eastbound.
Drivers will find free indoor and outdoor parking, though spaces are limited. There is no valet parking. Electric car charging stations are on site. The casino is accessible to people with limited mobility, and a security guard at the entrance lends wheelchairs. They cannot be reserved.
Coach companies run pick-ups from outside Montréal. Groupe Voyages Québec (1-800-463-1598) covers the Québec City area. Expression Voyages (819-868-1421) serves Estrie and Montérégie, and Voyages Arc-en-ciel (819-373-4411) serves Mauricie. For Montréal’s North Shore, the number is Voyages Blainville at 1-877-806-8666, extension 2226.

From Expo pavilion to casino
In December 1992, Québec’s Cabinet approved two government-run casinos, one on Île Notre-Dame and one at Pointe-au-Pic. Loto-Québec was given their set-up and management. Casino de Montréal opened on October 9, 1993, in the former Expo 67 French pavilion. On opening, it had 65 gaming tables and 1,200 slot machines.
Expansions followed in 1994 and again in 1996, when the casino took over the former Québec pavilion. New gaming and entertainment areas were unveiled on November 21, 2013.
